Come and explore 300 years of collecting history at our Burlington House premises as part of Open Fridays for our Sensing History project

This week we’re running a special Open Friday event as part of Kids in Museums annual Takeover Day.

We’ve invited sixth form students from a local school to take charge of our Open Friday – for one week only. As part of the preparation for the day the students have developed new skills and discovered career opportunities in the cultural heritage sector. They are now planning some exciting surprises for visitors to our Burlington House premises.

Come along to enjoy a day with a difference:

• Art workshops for all ages (drop-in between 11am and 2.30pm)
• 20-minute building tours devised and delivered by the students (12pm and 2pm)*
• 5-minute performances offering creative responses to our historic collections (11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm)

*Numbers for the building tours will be limited. If you hope to join a tour, we recommend arriving early to guarantee a spot.

Open Fridays are part of our Sensing History at the Society of Antiquaries project, which is kindly supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund, John Murray Charitable Trust, Movement For Good, & Museum Development London.
