Grant Application Process
We're excited that you've decided to apply for either a Church Conservation or Research Grant from the Society of Antiquaries of London!
Application Forms and Supporting Documents
You will need to download and complete the appropriate application form:
- William and Jane Morris Conservation Grant
- Research Grants
- Margaret and Tom Jones Memorial Award
- William Lambarde Memorial Travel Award
- Janet Arnold Award
Before uploading and submitting your application form, please make sure you have renamed your application form so that the file name begins with the church/monument name (for Morris Church Conservation grants) or your surname (for all Research Grants). Please also do this for any and all additional documents you wish to provide to support your application. Please note that all files must be less than 10 mb in size.
Submitting Your Application Online
Once you've completed your grant application form and notified your referee(s), you can return to this website and the 'Apply for a Grant' page. You will be required to complete a short online form for your application (specifying which application you are applying for), upload your application form and supporting documents, identify your referee(s), and 'submit'. All submissions are final.
Information Regarding References (Research Grants Only)
Following your submission, your referee(s) will receive an automated email from our website (triggered by the submission of your application materials); the email will have a unique URL/link to an online reference form (with instructions) to be filled out and submitted in support of your application. Once submitted, your referee(s) will receive on on-screen 'Thank You' message confirming receipt of the reference.
You will want to alert your referee(s) of the application deadline in advance to avoid disappointment regarding late submissions (applications are not considered complete without the references and references must be submitted before the application deadline).
You will also want to alert your referee(s) to the information that will be necessary for completing the reference form in advance (download the information here). We recommend that you encourage your referee(s) to compose supporting statements in advance, so that statements may by copied and pasted into the online reference form to avoid technical difficulties that can occur when online forms are left open too long (such as loss of unsaved content).
