Join us for a unique opportunity to explore the legacy of Magna Carta (1225) and the Charter of the Forest, marking 800 years since its reissue by Henry III – the version enshrined in English law. This free exhibition brings together rare and significant manuscripts, offering fresh insights into their impact on law, governance, land, and society. Magna Carta, one of the most important documents in history, has influenced legal and human rights systems worldwide, from the French Revolution to the United States Constitution and the United Nations’ Declaration of Human Rights.
Learning & Outreach Programme (1 April 2025 – 31 March 2026)
We are delivering free educational sessions for state school students and community groups, exploring the continued relevance of Magna Carta and the Charter of the Forest.
