Beyond Notability’s International Women’s Day: Wiki Edit-A-Thon

March 8, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Help the Beyond ‘Notability’: Re-evaluating Women’s Work in Archaeology, History, and Heritage in Britain 1870-1950 project by taking part in a Wiki edit-a-thon in our Library.

The Beyond ‘Notability’ project will release a selection of new Wikidata entries based on their project findings and this Wiki edit-a-thon will complement this research. This Wiki edit-a-thon will focus on women involved in the Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Archaeological Institute and feature selected books from our collections as reference material for the editing of existing entries or construction of new entries.

You can take part in person or online. If attending in person, you need to bring your own laptop. Please make sure your laptop is fully charged as sockets may be in short supply.

To prepare for the event and to see how to take part online, please visit the Wikidata project page.

Beyond ‘Notability’: Re-evaluating Women’s Work in Archaeology, History, and Heritage in Britain 1870-1950 is a 3-year AHRC funded collaborative project.

The Beyond Notables team is:

Principal Investigator Professor Katherine Harloe (Director of the Institute of Classical Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London)

Co-Investigators Dr James Baker (Director of Digital Humanities, University of Southampton) and Dr Amara Thornton FSA (Institute of Classical Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London), and postdoctoral Research Fellow Dr Ammandeep Mahal (University of Southampton).
