Book of Hours

This exquisite Book of Hours from 15th century Rouen is a very luxurious manuscript, containing 30 full-page miniatures, 24 smaller miniatures in the calendar, and full borders throughout of foliage, flowers, birds, delicate gold filigree decoration and formal motifs. A highly decorative manuscript such as this makes it more an object to display the wealth of its owner as much as a functional book for regular use.
