Mission statement and strategic plan

The Society’s mission is 'the encouragement, advancement and furtherance of the study and knowledge of the antiquities and history of this and other countries' (Royal Charter 1751).

The strategic objectives of the Society are:

1. Improving public access to and learning about the Society and its historic assets
2. Fostering public understanding and engaging in policy
3. Supporting research and communicating its results
4. Supporting the Fellowship
